Osprey historical miniatures showdown
Posted by Martin on July 9, 2009
It seems like ages since Osprey announced they were going to run this competition and it’s finally been announced today. Miniatures from 30 different companies in a good old fashioned cup knock out. So two have got a bye in round one. It’s a nice bit of “just for fun” and kudos to the boys and girls at Osprey for organizing it.
The idea is that you vote for your favourite in each pairing and the winner goes through to the next round. This looks like it’s gonna run for quite a few weeks, so I’m putting my feet up and cracking open the popcorn. Which are your favourites to reach the final?

Is there some way to see all the entrants? I only saw the ones in the first pairing match up. I was pretty disappointed by the Immortal Miniatures entry. I’ve never held one in my hand but I like what I see on their website. Their entry in the competition was disappointing because they are full of character, but I can’t do an army of figures like that. Heck, I can’t even do a unit of figures like that. It would be great if there were some units worth of appropriate figures for which these would be distinctive, but they are just too distinctive.
So I think it depends on what is entered by each mfrr.
Before seeing anything I would guess the Perrys would be the most likely to win, but if they enter something too distinctive I’m not voting for it.
