New Calpe charging Prussians

Posted by Martin on September 8, 2012

Now that the French infantry Route-March set is nearing completion, Peter F.’s attention returned to upgrading the Prussian musketeers prior to the traditional August holiday month. I’ll be adding details of these packs, as well as new pictures of some of the other new Prussians, to the Calpe website over the next week or so. These new charging figures include some really dynamic poses and caters for figures in both the front and rear ranks. So here we go – enjoy these photos!

Pack P17: Prussian musketeers charging - front rank.

Pack P18: Prussian musketeers charging - rear rank.

Pack P19: Prussian musketeers charging - front rank head variants.

Pack P20: Prussian musketeer charging: drummer, standard bearer and NCO.

Pack P21: Prussian musketeers charging - rear rank head variants.

I think my favourite figure out of these 21 new poses is the drummer point the way with his drumsticks! Lastly, if you’re planning to order any of these packs, please note that Peter F. has moved to using a single letter P prefix for these packs now (following the example of using a single letter F for the French).

Excellent Peter. I was looking for an excuse to buy some West Prussian Musketeers.

  2. These are very nice figures … and I still need to paint the 2nd musketeer battalion for my 4/3 East Prussian regiment. But I already have the figures for that battalion … though I’m sure the The Son & heir would take those off my hands. The biggest issue would be that I’d have 2 battalions of original sculpts with one of the later sculpts with the different shako etc. Hmmm. Decision decisions.

    Salute

Great to have some Calpe news…As has been said, lovely figures up to standard of dynamism and accuracy we have come to expect from Peter. I am more of a ‘March Attack’ man myself, but I think one or two of the rear rank chargers arranged in the front of a Bn of march attackers might spice things up and represent the younger keener element ‘Get yer bindook back in yer shoulder, Schultz, we’ll get there when we get there!’

Hopefuly we’ll see some march attack musketeers (and new shako fusiliers and Jager) in the near future.

These look great … very dynamic sculpts.

Love these figures – such a pity Calpe don’t make British! 😦
